A task entry in my journal for the 3rd November, 2023, reads:
- Brologue – figuring shit outâ„¢
In-between figuring shitâ„¢ out, my PC’s innards were churning out clouds, rendering volumetrics for a 3D scene that would eventually become the intro to a Smash Ultimate video on my YouTube channel:
I was trying to do the work of an entire studio while I had a full-time job, and it’s had me burned out on video editing ever since. I tried pushing through it earlier this year and releasing what I had, but I never came close to getting my spark back.
On the other hand, a year ago, I founded a new creative outlet to focus on – a blog for my writing, which I would make public for the first time:

Wires get crossed, mismeasurements are made, YouTube is consulted, the cat runs off with your nuts; forget this, I’m going for a Twix.
That’s a lie, of course. My writing has been public across the web ever since my parents gave me my first laptop. The digital doppelganger who finds himself here, at home, and is now reading these words to you, has terrorised me more than any cosmic horror ever could.
We behave ourselves – so we hope. This is a public ledger of what I think, and I’d like to believe that without it, I wouldn’t have had the confidence to switch careers and so something I’ve always been kind of good at:

As I say, all I can do is write. Over the course of sixty-six posts, I’ve posted words to this blog every five and a half days. Better than nothing, though I think I could do a little more. Little gets posted to this blog that hasn’t been edited heavily and slept on.
I didn’t really have anything specific in mind for this anniversary. Just wanted to mark the occasion. Here’s to another year of Brologue – long may it continue.
This Time Last Year…
